Thanks for all the help. I collect old gas pumps, know nothing about tractors. I am glad tractor people seem as eager to help a newbie as the gas pump guys are. Looks like a great hobby. (lots of the pumps guys have tractors too)
The odd history behind this makes me want it all the more. I had no idea people made their own tractors. I'll let you guys know if I can get it away from the owners.
So far it seems like most people I talked to think it is a Pontiac, a few say Buick. I guess I'll know more when I take a closer look.
