Here in SE Michigan, I have several options. Many communities have recycling centers that take used oil. Also, Murray's Auto Parts and Tractor Supply Company both take it.

If you can't get someone to pick it up, then you may have to find a store that will take it. You may have to carry it in five gallons at a time, because most stores have a limit to how much they'll take.
