We run ours on the barn cleaner chain. In the winter it keeps it from freezing solid outside on the slide, and in the summer when we run it only 1-3 times/week, it keeps it quite. You'd be amazed how much difference a little oil goes. A couple years ago I happened to get a 5 gallon pail w/ a valve in the cap, so I can adjust the flow of oil. It works great and it's just enough to coat the chain and not the manure.
