There is a product called POR-15 that is readily available on ebay or many places on the internet. They have a paint that dries to a rock hard finish that is good for rusty metal. It works very good. I just did the underside of my lawnmower deck with it. They have a gas tank kit. You dump a pint or quart in the tank (after you clean it with acid) and swirl it around and then let it drain overnight. It will dry to a rockhard coating in the tank that will not ever come off. I have used it and it worked flawless. It is silver colored and you can see straight to the bottom of the tank right through the gas when it is done and it stays that way. You can have the tank back in service in a day or two and you will be very happy with the results, I was. Later.
