You could have a bad battery. Check that out, all cables and connections, etc before you condemn the starter. If it is bad, take it to a good local rebuilder, unless you know that you can get a good rebuild from a truck supply. The last starter I priced through Cat was nearly a grand rebuilt, and over 2 grand new.... although that was a 24 volt starter. If you look closely at the starter you'll probably find that it's a Delco 42MT or something like that, and is fairly common. Truck parts supplier should get one, or at least the parts to rebuild one. HTH.
