Get a product called Hi Tack. Made by permatex. It comes either as a spray or a brush on can. It is a thin red goo that is REALLY sticky. Works great for holding gaskest in place and as a thin sealer. RTV is such a mess and too slick for most gasket work. Hi Tack is made just for the purpose.
