Rock shafts are what raises and lowers the three point hitch, or on earlier models, maybe just the cultivator units. Simply a pivoting shaft that rotates in an arc, courtesy of a hydraulic cylinder. Has nothing to do with those miserable creations of our Creator that break things when we hit them in the field. Just a shaft that rocks back and forth to raise and lower stuff.
