The thing hanging over the road on the pole is a pre pass transceiver that read data from the truck and sends a signal to the dash unit to tell the driver that he can bypass the scales or that he has to go in , the plate in the road is a weigh on the fly scale that alerts the weigh station that wooooo that next trck is over and then they can real check the weight of the truck , now in some locations they have them scales out in the middel of nowhere and it send a signal back to the aprtol post or a weigh station that hey we got a truck going down this road heavy and if ya got a unit close ya just may want to stop it and chek it out . now sometimes they also have a hidden camra that takes a perttu color picture and also showes the plat so if you are tryen to sneak around scales these days ya had best know where they all are as big brother is watchen ya , most drivers today do not apy attenshion to what is going on around him .
