Catskill Tractor was one of our main competetors 20-25 years ago - before Walker took over. That's back when Ivan Walker had a permanent ad in the paper "wanted tractors - don't have to run" and had the auction barn down the road from Catskill. I assume that Frank is Ivan's son?
I worked for the local Deere dealer (Oneonta), founded by a chicken farmer, Jim Lane, and we had "friendly" competition around like Able Equipment (Case), and Hardy Hanson (West End Implement IH), and Duffy Mohar (Allis Chalmers), and then the "not so friendly" like Catskill Tractor (Massey Ferguson) and Ecklund (Ford).
I used to go to the equipment dealer's Christmas dinner every year, I kind of miss those days - and I guess most of the old tractor bosses are dead.
