Rotary hoe

I bought an antique rotary hoe, it is a pull type and it has wheels that go up and down, I suppose guage wheels. All the pull type hoes that I have used and have seen had no wheels just the hoes that run on the ground. I would like to know more about this hoe, how to set it, how they work etc. It is in perfect condition and I have been thinking about trying to use it. I have seen pictures of horse drawn hoes and it looks very similar, I was wondering if they use the gauge wheels instead of speed?
