I might as well tell my tale....even though I am what one feller called a 'newbie' (which I take to imply a freeloader or somebody who hasn't earned their speaking privledges yet)...anyway, 10-12 years ago, I had a stuck piston in JD 430. I screeched..DON'T DO IT! He says, one way or another it's GOT to come out...if you bust the piston..get another one, but this stuck one ain't doing you a bit of good. Hmmm, he was right. About 10 Paul Bunyon licks later, it came loose. I honed the cylinder enough to clean it up, squirted oil in both the cylinders and let the starter whirl everything for a minute or so and then bolted it all back together. Still running today! If all else fails, use a bigger hammer.
