Get a clean bucket then remove the main pressure line going to the control valve. Aim end of hose in the bucket. If possible, leave kill control out or disconnect and crank engine. If little or no fluid comes out your pump is either not pumping or is starving for oil. Next step would be to remove suction hose from pump to make sure it has plenty of constant flow to it. If the flow of oil is a problem, even though you have cleaned the sump screen, I have seen them have a clear varnish on them and not let enough oil through. IF oil is plentiful to the pump, depending how pump is driven, a keyway may be sheared and pump is not operating. Most cases a pump does not go bad suddenly unless ice or chucks of debris has damaged it.
