If you can get under the pieces in question and pick them up, drop them and they will break into smaller pieces. Just get under one corner and pick up that corner until it falls onto a hard surface. Another way to get the pieces smaller is to get one piece leaning onto another and drive your front tire onto the spot with no support under it. Good luck.
