Volkswagen had sides like that on their pickup version of the transporter van. I see one around here once in a while. I have even seen one on the later body style . I do not think they were imported for sale but were brought in by individuals. We had one at work when I worked for a VW dealer. It was our parts runner truck. Even had an extended cab before anyone in the US built an extended cab.
