Keith: I guess old must have been visiting other forums the day I went Oliver. I've always been interested in all tractors. Farmed all my life, and in my opinion, I've yet to see the perfect tractor. All the dozen or so mainline manufacturers of the 1960s had at least one feature I liked. I would have thought by now, in 2006, John Deere would have built the perfect tractor, but they have gone done hill in the past 10 years. I wound up being an IH man as the result of an excellent dealer. Plain and simple the parts guy and his supply has always been number one.

You may ask why I say John Deere should have built the perfect by now. Well John Deere never had any first ideas of ther own. They've just done a fine job of marketing the ideas of others. Ideas like Oliver's 6 cylinder, Cockshutt's IPTO, Ford's Select-0-speed, IH's TA, Ferguson's 3 point, Versatile's articulated, etc. I'm sure I've missed a few. I thought at one time I'd live to see the perfect tractor. I'm starting to loose that hope.
