Bob Melville, over on the Farmall board, has drawn up and posted a series of wiring diagrams to convert IH tractors to 12 Volt systems, with alternators.

Whether you have a distributor, or a mag, there will be a diagram that will work for your Allis.

Be smart, use a standard, as-original 3-wire alternator.

They are the cheapest to buy, the easiest to find, charge at lower RPM's, and cause less parasitic drain on the battery during periods of non-use than the deceptively simple "one-wire" units.
