(1) Your 1050 is older than you think! They were manufactured in 1966-1967. (2) The grease fitting you mention does not grease the gearbox, just the shaft bushings. (3) Fill the gearbox with 80w-90w lube until it is level with the filler plug opening. The blower should be in its mounted position to achieve correct lube level. (4) Some units used a horizontal fill/level plug 3/8"NPT. Other units used a small horizontal level plug with a larger vertical fill plug.
