If you know the guy real well give him a call and ask him when he's going to pick up the tractor, as in tomorrow (before year end taxes are locked). If he backs off and says he needs time, go ahead and start working on it, you've gone way beyond what is fair to accommodate seller's remorse (see if a dealership ever gives you an option like that).

If you don't know the guy all that well, run him off your place if he ever shows up.
