I perfer the freeze plug heater but could not get one into my 282 cube td9 engine easily, so I plumbed it for a tank heater that goes into a heater type hose. I had to get creative to install the hose. Iwent from the coolant drain cock to the plug in the head where the temp gauge probe was installed.. With a few ts I still had a temp gauge and the ability to drain the coolant. I only used it once or twice but in a hour or 2 it warmed it up so the temp gauge went up and It started easily. I would not like to leave it on for a long length of time. I like the idea of a recpticle with a remote switch in the house for convenience in turning it on a couple of hours before starting the machine.
