I think you are talking about the forward and reverse pressure relief valves. They, along with the two steel pressure lines are located just inside that left cover plate.

I'm gonna pull that plate and take a look; local red shop says that they are hard on the seals on the valves you're talking about.

If it is anything more complicated than that, tho, she is up on the trailer and headed fer town.

I just can't see how it is anything very serious; it absolutely bellers in reverse, both hi and low.
