cummins 175C engine question on a MRS tractor

I have recently purchased a '70's vintage MRS A- 90 wheel tractor with a Cummins 175C engine. Near the steering wheel is a canister looking item labeled "Pressure Primer Discharger". It has a hard pipe/line running to the intake manifold. What is this? Sometype of cold starting device? The engine also appears to have 2 injectors per cylinder. One set is piped to the IP and the other to ....... a return line? Definetly not glow plugs. Anyone have any info on this tractor/engine that could help me out?
