Because guys have heard that NASCAR teams use nitrogen in their tires ;^) High performance applications like racing and airplane tires benefit a little. It leaks out more slowly than regular air, doesn't support combustion, and doesn't oxidize the rubber or the rim. I can't image there's much benefit for tractors.
