I have a IH 966 with a ac delco altenator on on it but it is not charging. I took the altenator to a local parts store and they said it is ok. I traced all the wires back they all look in good shape. Does any body know the correct way it should be wire up at the altenator and where these wires should go. It has the battery, 2 plug, and ground on it for connections. I have looked at other tractors but every one seems to be wired up differently. Is there a way to checked it at the altnator itself while running on the tractor? What size of pulley should be on it it might not be getting enough rpms? Does this tractor have a internal or external regulator becuase under the steering wheel there is a black box that looks like one and if so is there a way to check this?
