Federal law mandates that high sulpher fuel can not be used for road use. Because of this all high sulpher fuel is dyed red. Low sulpher fuel may be used for on and off road use. Because of the extra cost of tanks most suppliers only stock low sulpher. It is sold clear (green) for on road use and is injected with red dye at the loading rack for off road (no tax) use. Red dye only tells you it is no tax (off road) use only. It can be low or high sulpher.
