I"m going to call the dealership tomorrow, have the mechanic take it apart and find out if the head is cracked. If it is, I"m going to see if I can get them to install a reman. head, intead of the new head I"m sure they are going to want to put in. For $1200, might as well spend another 600 and get a reman. engine put in. I hope it"s just a head gasket. For those who were wondering, I use the pickup as my economy vehicle. Driving to work and back, running errands, whenever I don"t need to haul anything. It gets 20-21mpg in town, out on the road it gets 24mpg, can"t beat that. The truck"s steering and front brakes are allmost all new parts, new clutch, 2 tires that are 2 years old but still in great shape, 2 tires that have less than 3,000 miles on "em, and the radiator is 2 years old, as is the battery. I think it would be a wise choice to keep the pickup, just have to find the money for the repair....
