Hugh, I do have a 140 parts catalog, but it is not in the building with my computer at this time. For some years, the generator on all models of Farmall was the same. For that reason, I looked in my Cub parts catalog, which I happen to have here. Cub changed to 12 volts during 1962. As you may know, Cadillac changed to 12 volt about 1953 and by 1955, all GM autos were 12 volt. GM owned Delco at that time and for many years after. I have assumed that Farmall continued with 6 volt until (1.) Delco absolutely discontinued manufacture of the 6 volt generator or (2.) Farmall depleted their inventory of 6 volt generators. The 100042 generator does not show up in the newest Cub parts catalog. But that number instinctively suggests a 6 volt unit. I had further assumed that all Farmall models converted to 12 volts about the same time. I cannot imagine the Cub being changed to 12 volts and the 140 remaining at 6 volts. The opposite of that is more plausible.
