I am curious which JD"s had/have "aluminum frames/castings" unless you are talking lawn tractors, in which case I agree my JD GT262 has alum transaxle housing as did GT242. We owned a Yanmar- built JD 950 from 1979 to 2000 which was traded on JD 5105 , no aluminum castings/ frames on either of those.
