All car and van engines 2.2-2.5 will interchange were strait up with aluminm heads and were made for a wrap around tranny but mounts and tranny would not be able to be used in forward-aft position. I know a guy that replaced his 4 cylinder with a V8 engine, still has it but no longer in use.
