The B. International were noted for been lousy starters over here let alone in a Canadian winter! We had a Super BMD then a B.450, both had oodles of torque but they were both very poor starters. In later years IH abandoned the awful glowplug starting system in favour of the thermostart and shorter stroke engines. Yes that made them easier to start, but they did not pull nearly as well as the old long stroke sloggers.
