O.T. Dodge variable displacement Hemi

Anyone had any experience with these? Local dealer has a new Durango on the lot with this engine, claims it is good for around 20 M.P.G.
The '01 Trailblazer we have now is getting to be a royal pain. 57,000 miles, one new tranny, a multitude of recalls, and right now it is in the shop for a twisted off shaft in the power steering pump, which caused my wife to lose control and put it in the ditch. She's fine, and no damage to the troubleblazer, but I think it is time.
