Doug: Don't know exactly where your 12,000 lb. track loader would fit in. Farm Equipment moves both ways duty free. They may class the loader as construction equipment, that may make a difference on duty. The one exception being GST on items not GST exempt. Canadian Customs will want GST at border on those items. My experience has been mainly with small items like farm equipment parts. On those courier companies will often want more than item is worth, just for brokerage fees of clearing it through customs. With same items in back of my pickup, quite often I drive up to Canada Customs, tell them what I have. Sometimes they want to see invoice, most often not. On items under $300., I've yet to have them do a GST process, just not worth their paper work or time. They tell me to have a nice day and send me on my way.
