Graduated from high school in June,1957 was 1A for the draft. Local guard unit convinced me to join up for their 6 month program. Went in and wound up in 3rd Army,3rd Ordnance,Direct Auto motive Support unit Ft.Campbell,Ky. Was then released back to the local unit. Moved to another town hooked up with USAR and then was recalled in the last month of my reserve time, for the Cuban missle crisis with the 2A 111 Signal Bn.Ft Meade Md. No real danger time served, but did give me a deeper respect for the guys & gals who did their time in harms way. Hats off to all of them!! Gene Davis s//n24799600 .
