Joe: A lot depends on what you intend doing with tractor and more particularly the pto. If you have no use for pto the it really doesn't matter. If in fact you are doing work as mentioned by John and old then live pto becomes quite important, especially when the pto load is quite demanding. Then you have other chores like spreading manure, sickle mowers, and other light applications, where live pto not so important.
