applying fetilizer

I"m going to be applying some potassium on my hayfield soon, hopefully Thursday evening. They are predicting 50% showers Fri. and Fri. night, max. of 1/2 inch possible. If we get that much rain, will it be too much and wash my fert. away? What would be a good time frame between fertilizing and rain? This is on rolling land with a small pond at the bottom of the field. Don"t think there are any fish in the pond, but still don"t want to see the fert. end up there. Thanks for the help, again.
