alot has to do with the additives that differ from one company to another, though the oil weight might be the same different brands and manufactures add there own mixture of additives to help the fluid do its job, i.e. lubrication/high preasure use etc. these additives vary from manufacture to manufacture, this quite possible could have led to the foaming that you experienced, it was most likely caused by a chemical reaction by something in the additives...in the for what its worth colum....
