Well that is where ya'll go wrong, buying a new truck and worrying about spending an extra 5K for the diesel. Who cares if ya buy new, you drive off the lot and suddenly your 40K truck is a 30K truck. Although being a diesel it is worth more resale. I just spent $5700 and bought a nice clean '96 6.5L Chevy with a lot of new expensive parts. Sure she don't have the power of those newer power plants but I could put 5K of mods on and have pretty much the same pulling truck as a 40K new truck.
