Dad used to do it all the time. Do like Cowman said, add a little sugar. The most important thing is; make sure the milo is COMPLETELY dry before you pop it. More kernals will pop that way. Dad used to put some in a pan (thin layer) on the top of the stove to dry for a few days before he popped it. Don't use too much oil (and make sure it is hot) when you pop it - it will soak it up and not pop. Never tried an air popper, but might have to.
