The rumor has persisted nearly since Biblical times that Ford owns Cummins. Who knows, it may finally be true! If so, though Cummins will need to update their website!

An interesting FACT is, though, Consolidated Diesel, originally a CASEIH-CUMMINS partnership co-manufactures the 5.9's, along with CUMMINS.

Navistar, the surviving remnant of the original IH, of course, makes the Powerstrokes.

If you buy a current-production replacement 6.5 diesel for a GM pickup, or a Hummer, the block will have been cast by Navistar, and will bear the Navistar logo.

So the development of the Cummins 5.9, and the production of the Powerstrokes and now the replacement 6.5 AM General 6.5 blocks is all related to CASE-IH, in one way or another!
