I was told by a parts man who had been in the parts business for over 30 yrs. that I know of and he told me that all points and condensers run on the same voltage and resistance.The resister(either built into the coil or out before the coil) cuts down the voltage to,I believe,3 volts or there abouts.I may have some things turned around but I put a 12 volt coil with internal resister in my Super C and it still has the 6 volt distributor with the same guts as when it ran on 6 volts.I have not had any problems in over a year after putting the 12 volt coil on.
