I would think that this wire should have a charge light in
the middle of it. As I understand it, this will give the
momentary jolt of voltage it needs to excite the
alternator, then disconnnect itself. It"s a very strange
concept to grasp, but it does work. Also, I took my
alternator to a guy down the road from me and he did
something to the insides of it so it begins to charge at
around 800 rpm instead of the 1200 it used to take.
