Ford paint colors

I bought a book the other day about Ford farm tractors. It said an engineer by the name of Brock picked the red and gray colors in 1947 because of a dress his wife owned and he thought it was pretty. He also said that red wouldn't show rust as bad and he wanted a light color on the top because chickens like to roost on top and it wouldn't show dirt as bad. Anybody know if that's true?
