A 19 year old male with an accident (probably a ticket to go with it) will have high insurance, then buy one of the most expensive vehicles on the road and they will ream you up one side and down the other. Shop around, you MIGHT find a better deal but I doubt it. As for health insurance, I used to look at it the same way you do, I had paid in anywhere from $2000 to $5000 a YEAR (my share) for health insurance for the past 20 years and they only paid out about $4000 TOTAL on the birth of my two sons, I hadn't met my deductable once. Then three years ago my son became ill, since then he's racked up over $300,000 in medical bills with no end in sight. Top it off I came down with a "mystery" case of pneumonia that almost killed me in three days, two weeks later I walked out of hte hospital 35 pounds lighter. You wonder why its so high, I wonder how it can be so cheap.
