4010 Steering Matties

My 4010 has a slow response on startup, even after a few minute warm up the steering sort of jumps then works ok after that. Could this be the same as the response posted earlier in JD ed. 101? Check valve in Transmission?
Actually I had not paid much attention as it has not been noticlble untill recently but the earlier post got me thinking. I was going to change fluid out etc. this winter. Maybe its more than loss of viscosity. Thanks, Bob
