Both my new truck and the HD I traded in had the 6.0 liter, and get appox. 10 to 12 mpg. I haven't really seen any cold weather problems with the Duramax. In my case I tow my gooseneck maybe once every couple months so I really couldn't talk myself into the extra 6500-7000 dollars for the diesel and the Alison.
