Tractor's cheap replacement??????????

I own a couple of tractors,but always need one to haul or use a pull type implement. I own a boneyard and have gathered quite a few IHC loadstars that just sit. what are the drawbacks to shortening one,adding an auxillary trans and a really LOW ratio rearend? I could put hydraulics on to dump my pan and some LP tires with aggressive tread.We have free drain gas. Some time and scrounging could result in a AC cab tractor. Where is the idea flawed?
