I think some people just have that salesman mentality, and some are finding the "neat" "catchy" phrases everyone on ebay is using and think it will help them sell their item. They think if they say "rare", surely everyone is stupid enough to want to buy what they have. Good thing for the seller is that sometimes there is someone right there ready to bite.
