OT gun question

Does any one know the value of a Smith and Wesson model 46, it shoots 22 cal. longs. I acquired it through an estate I am the trustee of. I have no use for the gun, and before I take it to a gun shop to sell I would like to know the possible value. I will not sell it through this sight so please don't ask. I guess I could use it to shoot snakes when I am on my tractor, but would probably shoot my self like my brother did. He lived to tell about it I may not be so lucky. Stan
