Many things can effect the clutch operation. First of all does it have a distinct over center feel? The dogs, toggles, and the alingment pin and ear are probably the problem if it is not snapping over center. I had a problem with my 630 back in the early 80's while picking corn. Removed the clutch and had everything rebuilt one rainy day. (This involved removing the picker). I was very disturbed when I went back to picking, only to find that after about 200 to 300 feet the clutch would pop out. I finished picking with my foot laying against the clutch lever. It took very little effort to hold it in. After the picker was removed I once again started checking it out. I found a break in the first reduction housing between where the clutch forks bolt in and the main case. It would allow it to give and allow the clutch to pop out, and would spring shut so it could not be detected. Kind of a strange deal, but I suppose it could happed twice. Good luck and keep us posted as to what you find. Don
