OT SIlverado Parking Brake Adjustment

2000 Silverado 1500 parking brakes are wimpy little drum brakes inside the rear disk. It looks like there is only one way to adjust these... take the disk/drum off and adjust the star wheel. No self adjusting mechanism. Do I have this right? I assume the procedure is some form of, adjust the wheel until it drags then back off a few clicks. It this about right? Thanks in advance for any help.
