I saw a story on the TV show Trucks, a couple of weeks ago. It showed the host taking used veg. oil, from a fry cooker at a resturant, and running it through a bio-fuel processor. The show went through the whole process, from picking up the oil, to the testing of it, to mixing it with methanol and household lye. Then the meth/lye mix and oil was mixed in this processor. Then he took the fuel and ran his diesel truck on it. He said the exhaust smelled like french fries cooking. The processor they showed on TV sells for about $3000. Thats too high for me, so I went online using biofuel processor as the search word and found all kinds of info. on building one of these things cheap. I found a site that made a processor out of an old water heater. Most resturants have to pay to get rid of old cooking oil, so you can get it for free. You can get methanol at a car racing shop. And the lye you can buy at the local hardware store. The bottom line is, that you can make a very good fuel for about 70 cents a gal. And you can use this for your oil fired furnace. Check it out. Jack
